

Patricia “JaNahn” (Ponton) Maskell, 75, of Evans, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at her home. JaNahn was born on December 15, 1937 in Ewing, Nebraska to Adrian and Mildred (Haight) Ponton.
JaNahn graduated in Battle Creek, Nebraska in 1955 and then graduated from Wayne State College in 1959. On December 28, 1958, she married Loyd Maskell. JaNahn taught Vocal Music of one year in Madrid, Nebraska before becoming a full-time mother.
JaNahn had a beautiful singing voice, frequently singing solos and in groups at numerous church-related events. She was an excellent seamstress and was very creative in arts and crafts. Her unique Christmas themed figurines and nativity sets were in high demand at regional craft shows. JaNahn loved to study the Bible, and ministered to many people with her husband, Loyd, throughout Colorado, Iowa, Arizona and New Mexico. Together the couple conducted family relationship seminars for Family Foundations International. She was also a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
JaNahn is survived by her husband, Loyd; children, Mark Maskell (Kim) of Spearfish, SD, Scott Maskell (Debi) of Papillion, NE and Lauren Wooldridge (Mark) of Greeley; grandchildren, Andrew, Michaela, Tyler, Kelsey, Kylie and Michael Maskell and Jaden and Jaren Woodridge and brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Kay Ponton of Battle Creek.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at the Greeley First Assembly of God located at 3000 W. 16th Street in Greeley at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2013.
