Patricia Alejandra Vigil

Patricia Alexandra Vigil, 76, of Greeley, CO, passed away on October 19, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 1, 1947, in Eaton, CO, to Salvador and Josefa Trujillo. Patricia, also known as Pat, Patty, Patsy or Petey, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She deeply loved all her family and will be missed by all who knew her.

On December 13, 1968, Patricia married her true love, Roger Vigil in Greeley Colorado.

Patricia had a vibrant personality; she was feisty and strong-willed. She was one of a kind and so full of life, she was well known for her compassionate nature. She loved to paint and sew, often sewing her own fashionable outfits. She loved to stay trendy and would show her outfits off in photos. Patricia also enjoyed camping and traveling and was fearless in her adventures. She was always on the go and enjoyed packing as much into her day as possible. She loved going on coffee dates and spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed shopping, especially at thrift stores and yard sales. Patricia had a special place in her heart for animals and rescued hundreds of dogs, cats, birds, and any other animal in need. She opened her home to anyone and would offer the shirt off her back (including her husband’s which he willingly agreed to). She was an excellent cook; you would never leave her home with an empty stomach. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing moments watching them play sports, going on outings and just being in each other's presence. She looked forward to spending time with her daughters and eagerly awaited visits from her children out of state. Through it all, she had her loving and devoted husband by her side, he supported her through all her adventures.

Patricia was baptized in 1971 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was devoted to her faith and spent many years preaching and studied the bible with many individuals over the years. In the last year she spent much of her time in downtown Greeley with the Jehovah’s witness display cart. Her spiritual family was an important part of her life, and she made many lifelong friends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Roger Vigil, and their children: Bernadette (Mark) Lintt, Connie Knowlen, Juanita (Brian) Wiggins, Valerie Vigil, Stephanie (Chad) Kontour, and son Ben (Brittney) Vigil. Patricia was also blessed with fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and two on the way. One remaining sister, Teri Trujillo, and three brothers, Sam (Connie) Trujillo, Jesse Trujillo, and Danny Trujillo. Numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Josefa Trujillo, her sister, Rachel Luna, and brother John Trujillo.

Patricia's family and friends will gather to honor, celebrate her life, and share cherished memories. A viewing will be held at Stoddard Funeral Home on October 25th, 2023, between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The memorial talk will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Pheasant Run, 4702 W. 3rd St, Greeley CO, at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, with reception to follow at 901 54th Ave, Greeley, CO.
