A celebration of his life will be held on February 19, 2017 at 2pm at Stoddard Funeral Chapel. Sports attire is encouraged.
Phil was born in Missouri to Glen and Alice Jean (Johnson) Paxton on October 2, 1951. He graduated from Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM and attended University of New Mexico. Phil worked as an auto parts sales man by day, but lived a much more eventful life when he wasn’t behind the counter. Phil was an incredible song writer and musician, living life on the road with The Nickel’s Worth Band and even getting radio air time with songs he wrote or co-wrote. After chasing his dreams in music, he settled down to raise a family – which he said was his greatest life achievement.
Phil is preceded in death by his father Glen (Bud) Paxton; his mother Alice Jean (Johnson); his brother Doug Paxton, his lifelong best friend, Marilyn McClanahan and his granddaughter, Presley Palomino.
Phil is survived by his children, Jennifer McClanahan, Adam Crow, Mallary Crow Adams (Tristan Adams), Allison Paxton (Malik McKinney), his niece Jennifer Paxton Hayes (Thomas Hayes), his nephew Drew Paxton, his grandchildren, Braedon McClanahan, Rylee Aragon, Dallas Palomino, Azreal Crow, Ajiah Crow, Eliza Adams and his great grandson Brentlee Aragon.
Memorials may be given to Stoddard Funeral home in care of Phil Paxton. Charitable donations can also be made to Humane Society of Weld County in memory of Phil Paxton.
The family of Mr. Paxton wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Gregory Golden and the nursing staff in the ICU department of NCMC as well as our “Uncle Mustache”, Mark Felini and Dave Lindschmidt.
