

Richard M. Sibley, 91, of Fort Collins, passed away on July 30, 2014 in Fort Collins. Richard was born July 29, 1923 in Libertyville, IL to James and Olga (Beights) Sibley. Richard grew up in Prairie View, IL. During World War II, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Warrington, England. It was there he met Edith Brown. The two were married October 27, 1945 in Manchester, England. Richard and Edith lived in Gurnee, IL for over 30 years in the house that he built. They moved to Colorado in 1985. Richard was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed working in his shop. He was a very talented wood worker; one of his last projects was a footboard to match the headboard of his granddaughter’s bed. Richard enjoyed making clocks and had them displayed all over the home. He was a quiet man, but he loved people and was very generous. Richard spent his retirement making and giving away beautiful gifts. He is survived by his sons, Robert Sibley of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Brian Sibley and his wife Ranya, of Loveland, his daughter, Susan Swanson and her husband, John, of Fort Collins, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers Calvin and Edward Sibley, sister Edith Butner, son Ronald Sibley and granddaughter Christine Sibley. A memorial service will be held August 9, 2014 at 3:00 pm at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 628 Ptarmigan Run, Loveland, CO 80538.
