

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Rob Ludlum was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Good Samaritan in Loveland, Colorado. Robert Erl Ludlum was born June 24, 1929 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Robert Erl Ludlum and Celia Spencer Ludlum. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio graduating from Columbus North High School, from the Ohio State University (1953) with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and from St. Louis University with a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. On September 17, 1949, he married Janet Louise Willcox in Columbus, OH. The couple lived in Ohio: Columbus, Springfield, Gallipolis & Kent; in University City, Missouri and in Cheshire, Connecticut. He worked in electric motor design and application for over 40 years for some of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric motors. In 1994, they moved to Estes Park, CO where they were involved in their church and community. Rob was a loyal member of Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies and was a dedicated volunteer at Rocky Mountain National Park, accumulating over 11,000 hours. He was an active member of Rotary Club of Estes Park (Noon Rotary). He is survived by nephews, in Columbus OH: John Thomas Ludlum (Cindi); Daniel Spencer Ludlum (Mary); James Robert Ludlum (Laurie) and great nephew: Stephen Christian Ludlum (Heziel) of Louisville KY; step-nieces, Carol (Don) Bessemer of Akron, Ohio and Barbara (Sterling) Cramer of Franklin, Tennessee; and many dear friends & neighbors. His parents; his brother, Thomas Spencer Ludlum, his sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Shonting Ludlum and Dorothy Devendorf Syme Ludlum; great nephew, David Spencer Ludlum and sister-in-law, Dorothy Gardner, preceded him in death. A memorial service for Rob and Jan Ludlum (who died August 23 of this year) will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Community Church of the Rockies, Rev. Michael Moore presiding. Friends may call one hour before the service.
