Robert Edward Suden

We all lost a wonderful man on December 2, 2015, Robert E. Suden. He was an amazing man and was adored by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Robert was born on August 5, 1928, to Elsie (Patterson) Suden and Henry E. Suden in Portland, Oregon. The family moved to New Jersey in 1929. In 1946, Robert joined the National Guard where he proudly served his country. During his service, he met the love of his life, Gladys A. (Fetter) Suden. They married on November 11, 1950, in Bergenfield, NJ. He moved his family west in 1957 and they settled here in Colorado. Robert worked for Bell Telephone for 35 years where he maintained and serviced crossbar systems. He and Gladys had five children, raising them in Colorado, living their dreams of mountain living, ranching, and having a full family life. They retired and stayed in Colorado to be near their children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. Robert was an accomplished automotive enthusiast and spent much of his free-time working on cars. He and Gladys were members of Gloria Christi Lutheran church, which was a very important part of their lives. Robert was a model husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and citizen.

Robert is survived by his daughters and their husbands: Eileen Owens, Carol and Kevin Streit, Tina and Corey Schwartz, all of Greeley, Colorado; and, Gwyn and Darry Cooper of Bayard, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and, his many friends and others whose lives he has touched. He will join in heaven his beloved wife Gladys, their son Robert Bryan Suden; and, many extended family and friends.

Arrangements will be handled by Stoddard Funeral Home and Gloria Christi Church, where flowers may be sent. His memorial service will be held on December 11, 2015 at 11 am at Gloria Christi Lutheran Church. Robert recently remarked that he was grateful for having lived a life full of such love and family.
