Roberta “Bobby” McKinley, 92, of Greeley, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. She was born on September 16, 1925 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Fredrick and Roberta M. Ehrman.
Bobby was raised on a farm in Gering, Nebraska. She moved to Greeley and lived here most of her life. She attended Colorado Teachers College (UNC) and received her Master degree in Elementary Education. She was a teacher and librarian, retiring from Meeker Elementary School.
Bobby and Roland “Mac” McKinley were married for 53 years, until his passing in 2001. Bobby was a member of First United Methodist Church of Greeley, where she taught Sunday school, and the Ladies Elk Club.
Bobby enjoyed fishing, camping and playing cards. In her younger years, she enjoyed square dancing and polka dancing. Family and education were very important to her. She encouraged wisdom in her children to be the best they can be.
Bobby is survived by her children, Mark (Joan) of Greeley, Kim (Judy) of Arvada and Gail (Lynn Henderson) McKinley of Seattle, Washington; brother, Fred Jr. Ehrman of Coquille, Oregon; sister-in-law, Joy Lofing of Grand Island, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Shawna and Mark Nelson, Tamera Mayo, Ryan McKinley, Brad (Carolin) Johnson of Mannheim, Germany and Jordan Henderson and five great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, Molly, Mathias and Sophie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mac, sister and brother-in-law, Enid and Robert Branch, sisters-in-law, Sue Gueck and Pat McKinley and brother-in-law, Jim McKinley.
Sharing of Memories will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
