Rolando Davila, 66, of Keenesburg, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, from complications related to diabetes, renal disease, and a gallbladder rupture. A loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather, Rolando will be remembered for his quick wit, cheeky humor, boundless curiosity, and deep devotion to his family.
Born September 6, 1959, in West Texas (Morton, TX), Rolando was the youngest of nine children to Pedro and Gregoria Davila. Growing up in a large family, Rolando learned the value of hard work at a young age, working in agriculture through his youth and into adulthood. This upbringing instilled in him a quiet resilience and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures — a beautiful sunset over the fields, a good song on the radio, or the laughter of loved ones gathered together.
In 1983, Rolando married the love of his life, Oralia R. Davila, on October 8. Together they built a life filled with laughter, hard work, and unconditional love. They raised their children with compassion, perseverance, and love that defined Rolando’s own life, passing down these values to his grandchildren as well. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy and he cherished the moments spent making them laugh, telling stories, and teaching them lessons about the world and life.
Rolando’s career reflected his strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. After years working in agriculture in West Texas and Colorado, he transitioned into custodial and maintenance work, where his reliability and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and community. Even as health challenges emerged, Rolando faced them with strength and good humor. His renal disease eventually required dialysis which led to an early retirement in 2016, but he continued to bring joy to those around him with his jokes, playful banter, and thoughtful presence.
Rolando is survived by his wife, Oralia R. Davila; his children, Kristal, Rolando Jr. and Lissabel Davila; and grandchildren, Evanjeli, Amalie, Miguel Jr. (Miguelito) and Diego. He is also survived by his siblings Graciela Torres, Antonia Garcia, Rosa Perez, Rosalinda Torres, Pedro Davila Jr., Ruben Davila, and Rosara Martinez. Rolando was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Gabriella; his brother, Rogelio Davila; and many other beloved family members who welcomed him home.
Rolando’s wishes were to be cremated and to have no formal funeral service. A celebration of his life is planned for late spring/early summer 2026, where family and friends will gather to honor the memory of a man whose humor, warmth, and generosity left a lasting imprint on every heart he touched. Rolando’s spirit will forever live in the laughter and love of those who knew him best.
