Ron Doll was born on January 16, 1939, in Stringtown, Illinois, to Joseph Peter Doll and Roseanne M. (Ginder) Doll. He was delivered at home by Dr. Trotter. Ron attended St. Joseph School in Stringtown and went on to graduate from East Richland High School in 1957, where he played football during his junior and senior years.
In the fall of 1958, Ron enlisted in the United States Army. He completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and served as a Senior Track Mechanic. During his time in the Army, he was stationed in Germany and later at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he spent his final nine months of service. He was honorably discharged in March of 1962 with the rank of Specialist Class 4.
On August 18, 1962, Ron married Ruth Ann Seiler, beginning a lifelong partnership. Together, they raised four children: Pam, Brian, Janet and Roger.
Following his military service, Ron worked for Valley Block and later worked at Monfort in Greeley. While he valued his work, his true passion was farming. In 1966, he purchased a small farm near Greeley, Colorado where he grew corn and raised hogs, dedicating himself to the land and the lifestyle he loved. He worked the night shift at the packing plant and farmed during the day.
Ron will be remembered as a hardworking and devoted family man who took pride in providing for his family and caring for his land. His quiet dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to those he loved leave a lasting legacy that will not be forgotten.
