

Rufus Clayton Loucks passed away peacefully in the arms of his parents Kelsey Loucks and Shanna Heap Loucks of Fort Collins, CO. Thursday September 28, 2017 at Children’s Hospital, Aurora, CO. Rufus was born five weeks premature September 25, 2017 at Poudre Valley Hospital, Fort Collins, CO. He weighed seven pounds six ounces and was 19 and three-quarter inches long. Rufus was born with polycystic kidney disease that left both kidneys non-functional and stunted the development of his lungs. Shortly after birth he was put on life support and survived four days. His short life had tremendous positive impact on his family, and the family is truly grateful to have known and loved him during his short life. Rufus was his parent’s first child. Rufus is survived by his grandparents Dan and Peggy Heap of Fort Worth, TX., Bruce and Sue Loucks of Windsor, CO.; many aunts, uncles, cousins and his great grandparents Bill and Vi Woodis of Broomfield, CO. and Phyllis Loucks of Windsor, CO., Valdee and Gloy Heap of Thayne, WY. and Earnest and Fay Wetzel of Klamath Falls, OR. The family would like to express the most sincere gratitude to the Poudre Valley and Children’s Hospital NICUs for the outstanding compassionate service and care they gave Rufus. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 10 – 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Days Saints, 6521 Carmichael Street, Fort Collins, CO. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am.
