Selma May Salisbury

Selma May Salisbury, 83, of Aurora, formerly of Greeley died July 9, 2015 at her home. She was born May 23, 1932 in Sunnyside, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania to Paul William and Beatrice May (Horn) Moyer.

Selma was grew-up and was educated in the Lebanon County, Pennsylvania area. She graduated from Jonestown High School. After High School she met John L. Salisbury. They were married on February 22, 1952 in Jonestown, Pennsylvania. He died May 18, 1985. Mr. Salisbury was in the US Air Force and the family lived in many communities during his tenure. After retirement in 1969 the family returned to Pennsylvania, they moved to Loveland in 1972 and then to Greeley in 1973.

They owned Leonard’s Bookkeeping Service in Greeley for many years and Selma helped with the business. Most recently she helped Mothers of Preschoolers “MOPS” with daycare at two churches New Life Community Church and Community Church, both in Aurora. She attended New Life Community Church.

Selma enjoyed canning green beans and tomatoes and she loved holiday baking, of all kinds, especially Christmas Cookies. She loved reading her Bible, Crosswords, and the works of Thomas Kincaid.

Selma is survived by two daughters Susan (John) Kretz of Evans and Lori (Darrell) Stewart of Aurora; two sisters Beatrice Hamblin of Dover, Delaware and Frances Maini of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; three brothers John (Paula) Moyer of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Ed (Bertha) Moyer of Fogelsville, Pennsylvania and Ronald (Pat)Moyer of Lebanon, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren Brandon Salisbury, Kira Kretz and Amber Stewart. She was preceded in death by her husband John and two sons Timothy and Jerry.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
