Sheila Ann Weed

Sheila, 54, of Evans, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Medical Center of the Rockies. Sheila was born on May 30, 1960 to her deaf parents Betty and Alvie Moser in Denver and then moved to Greeley with her parents and sister, Thelma Moser, who she was very close to.

Sheila married Victor Leon Weed in 1980. They celebrated the birth of their son, Victor Joshua Weed in 1993.

Sheila was very active with her church, Gloria Christi Lutheran, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She graduated from Greeley Central High School and continued her education at Aims Community College and Front Range Community College.

Sheila worked for 33 years as a certified interpreter/tutor for the Deaf of District 6 schools, until she was forced to retire.

Sheila was always excited about and enjoyed life and loved helping people, especially her deaf students. She was very close to her parents and cared for most of their needs.

When Sheila’s health started to fail with cancer, her son, Joshua, without hesitation quickly assumed the household responsibilities, along with other family members. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all her family and friends who helped.

Sheila is survived by her son, Joshua; husband, Victor; parents, Betty and Alvie Moser; sister, Thelma Moser; aunt and uncle, Jim and Sylvia Bevans; aunt, Corona Howard; mother and father-in-law, Victor and Judy Weed; sister-in-law, Shannon and Brad Ralph and Michael, Jennifer and Kelli, their children; brother-in-law, Christopher Weed and aunts-in-law, April Baily and Pat Haslem.

She was recently preceded in death by her 97 year old grandmother, Vernice F. Knudson, who Sheila was also close to.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Gloria Christi Lutheran Church, 1322 31st Avenue, Greeley. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at the church immediately following the burial.
