Shirley attended Greeley High School and graduated in 1958. She married William Dillon in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1957. They were happily married until William’s passing in 2004. Shirley and William raised their two children, John and Vicky all over the United States while William was enlisted in the Air Force. Shirley was a PBX Operator at the North Colorado Medical Center and retired after 20 years. She was a dedicated member of the Kersey Community Church.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She adored her dog, Bo. Shirley spent her leisure time crocheting, reading her Bible and devotionals, traveling, fishing and always had music playing in the background.
She is survived by son, John (Julie) Dillon, daughter, Vicky (Elbert) Monroe, grandchildren, Joshua (Sunshine) Monroe, Melody (Jeremie) Billings, Jesse (Abi) Monroe, William Dillon and Shea (Mike) Rusch, great-grandchildren, Kenni and William Billings, Matthew and Hannah Monroe and Landon and Lane Rusch, and brother, Ronnie Barrett.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William, her parents, Ken and Thelma, brothers, John and Jerry Barrett, sister, Barbara Barrett, and sister-in-law Carol Barrett.
A graveside service for Shirley will be held Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Avenue, Greeley, CO 80631
Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Monroe, Melody Billings, Jesse Monroe, William Dillon, Shea Rusch, Jeremy Billings, Mike Rusch, and honorary pallbearers Kenni & William Billings, Matthew & Hannah Monroe and Landon & Lane Rusch.
