Steven R. Maupin

December 26, 1940 – March 2, 2010

Steven R. Maupin, 69, of Evans, died March 2, 2010 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born December 26, 1940 in Oakland, California to Ray Elmer and Ella Mae (Seavey) Maupin. He lived in Texas as well as Kansas, attending school in Garden City and then moved to Greeley in 1968.

On March 21, 1969, he married Lila Jean Warehime, she preceded him in death in July 2006. He married Roxanne Troudt on November 6, 2009 in Greeley, Colorado.

In his early years, he worked with his brother in the Oilfields and also served in the United States Navy for two years. He worked in construction and enjoyed building with his hands and kept very busy. Steve was a jack of all trades and enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching all sports and especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He enjoyed many fishing trips with his boys. He liked reading western novels. He was very proud of his family and was unselfish.

Steve is survived by his wife Roxanne Troudt of Evans; daughter Becky and Scott Morris of Goodland, Kansas; sons Shawn and Dawn Maupin of Greeley, and Shannon and Mistee Maupin of Greeley; sisters Mary and David Gribble of Ashdown, Arkansas, and JoAnn and Darrell Billings of Canadian, Texas; brother Gary and Kathy Maupin of Shamrock, Texas; In-laws Zella Warehime of Evans and Marvin and Joanne Troudt of Fort Morgan; and grandchildren Amanda, Shawn, Megan, Javier all of Goodland, Dylan, Chance, Colten, Coy, and Canin all of Greeley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lila, and son Shane Maupin.

Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Community Church.
