Vernon Dale Hnizdil

Vern graduated from Merino High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society and was very active in sports. He married Karen Christensen on August 25th,1957. To this union, two sons were born: Steven Earl and Douglas Dwayne. Vern worked in the oil field and farmed and ranched at Willard Colorado and Hereford Colorado. The Good Lord blessed Vern to be able to work at farming and ranching with his precious wife and two great sons until 1990 when he and Karen moved to Eaton, Colorado and he went to work for a great natural gas company. DCP Midstream. Vern retired in 2010 to take care of his beautiful wife, Karen and their youngest son, Doug.

Vern is preceded in death by his precious wife, Karen Joy; son, Douglas; his parents; sisters, Anna Lee and Adeline Louise; twin sister, Violet Gail; brothers, Paul and Charles Radda; two-half brothers, Tom and Frank Jr.; a half-sister; his favorite ranch dog, Snoopy; and a great cow horse, Apache.

Vern is survived by one son, Steven Earl; grandchildren Seth (Bailey), Hannah (Jimmy), Emma (Tanner), Luke (Kenna), Sam and a very special granddaughter, Shawna (Klien). Great grandchildren Allysun (Richie), Sage (Nate), Jayla, Anden, Klien "little Doug", Kyla, Owen, Maggy, Carly, Tate, Morgan, Emily, Josie and Quentin. Great great grandchildren Santana, Isaac and Emanuel.

Vern was a member of the wonderful little Hereford Community Church. One of his favorite prayers was: When the golden sun is setting, and on this old earth we no more trod, may our names and the names of our loved ones be written forever in gold in the autograph of God!

Till we all meet again: ride hard, but keep a loose rein and go with our God.

A Graveside Service for Vernon will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Eaton Cemetery, 501 South Christensen Avenue, (CR39), Eaton, Colorado. Following the Graveside Service will be a reception from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service - Macy Chapel, 6521 W. 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
