Vickie R. Jones Boltz, 60, of Bellvue, died at her home on August 24, 2015. She was born August 13, 1955 in Rawlins, WY to Jim and Nellie Jones of Elk Mountain, WY. She grew up in Elk Mountain, graduating from Hanna-Elk Mountain High School in 1973. Even after moving her most favorite spot in the world was her beautiful and peaceful hometown of Elk Mountain.
She married Brad Thompson in 1973 (divorced 1983), the father of her son Aaron and daughter Dani. She moved to Fort Collins in 1986 and began her career with Anheuser-Busch retiring as a Logistics Manager in 2012. She obtained her bachelor’s degree while working full time and being a single, supporting mother. She was an amazing mother to her son and also to her daughter, her best friend. She was a loving and supportive presence in her grandchildren’s lives in every aspect, attending all school activates and functions, teaching them to cook, garden, the Lord’s Prayer, reading, all the states and capitals, and life’s values. The list is endless and they will always have that and keep her alive in their hearts and memories. She was the epitome of a wonderful and loving grandmother.
She loved gardening, reading (lots and lots of books of all kinds, especially spiritual, John Grisham types, Bible), spending time with her grandchildren, and her family, raising chickens supplying fresh eggs to all of her friends, family and neighbors. She never forgot and always acknowledged every birthday and other special occasions. Her passion was making others happy, putting everyone else before herself, for which she will be forever remembered. She has shown everyone whose life she touched the value of family and friends, the legacy that she leaves to all of us.
She married Willie Boltz in 2001 and made their home on a small ranch up Rist Canyon he survives. She is also survived by her mother and father of Elk Mountain; her brother Craig Jones (Hope, Tyler, Abby) of Elk Mountain; son Aaron Thompson (Holly, Madison, Brady) of Wellington; daughter, Dani Poffenroth (Andrew, Ethan) of Fort Collins, and numerous special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
An open house visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, starting at 12 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake, Fort Collins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Burial in Elk Mountain will be private. Flowers can be sent to Allnutt.
There are not enough words to fully describe our Vickie and all that she represented and provided to anyone and everyone that had the privilege to cross her path, whether it was in passing or long term. Her strong love and devotion for her family could move mountains.
