Walter Eugene Clark of Greeley died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Bonell Good Samaritan Center. He was born March 8, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Charles Roy and Jennie (DeYoung) Clark.
Walter was reared and educated in Grand Rapids, where he graduated from South High School. He entered the U.S. Army on April 7, 1945, he served as an X-Ray technician, and was honorably discharged on April 12, 1946. After his discharge, he returned to Grand Rapids and married Lois Ruth Bosscher on July 21, 1949. The family moved to Greeley in 1966. Lois died on May 31, 1993. He married Murle (Hirdes) Dupey on April 17, 1999 in Greeley, Colorado.
Walter was a gifted photographer and loved taking photos of the outdoors. He owned and operated Clark's Photo Art Studio in Greeley and was once the official photographer of the Greeley Independence Stampede.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greeley where he was a member of the choir. He also served as a deacon and an elder.
He is survived by his wife, Murle; daughters, Candace Clark (Bob Barron) and Cristi Sampson (Mike) all of Greeley; sons, Robert Clark (Kim) of Phoenix, Arizona, and James Clark of Aurora; step-sons, Mike Dupey (Laura) of Cedar Springs, Michigan, Mark Dupey of Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin and Jeff Dupey (Kathleen) of Breckenridge; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and a brother Edward Roy Clark.
Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, at First Presbyterian Church.
