Born in Kansas on November 20, 1952, to Walter and Bernice (Whaley) Schooler, Wilbur was a hardworking and humble man who lived a quiet, honest life. His employment usually included heavy equipment or a semi tractor and trailer; jobs that suited his dependable nature and strong work ethic. Those who knew Wilbur often described him as a man of few words but quick wit, known for his dry sense of humor and appreciation for life’s simpler pleasures.
Wilbur found peace in the great outdoors and especially loved the mountains. Whether it was camping, a quiet drive or time spent in nature, he cherished the calm and beauty of the world around him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dianne Nab, and his parents, Walter and Bernice, and infant brother, Duane. He is survived by his step-daughter, Stephanie McIlvanie-Grijalva and husband Jonathan; sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Keith Thomas; niece, Stacey Bang and husband, Douglas, and their children Wyatt, Winchester and Westley; niece Valeen Jackson and husband, Gary, and their son, Ty; and extended family and friends who will remember him fondly.
Per Wilbur’s wishes, his and Dianne's ashes will be laid to rest together at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In honor of his memory, take a moment in nature, share a laugh with someone you love, or simply enjoy a peaceful drive — just as he would have.
