

Bill graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.S. degree in Marketing and a Masters Degree in Business Education. He was the project manager for the Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce from 1973-1976, working with the Greeley Independence Stampede, the Colorado Farm Show, Convention and Tourism committee, and the Education committee. From 1977-2001, he taught Business and Marketing Education at Greeley Central High School. He was passionate about both the importance of vocational education and community service. Bill’s legacy lies in countless students who now work and are leaders in their own communities. He coached football and basketball and was responsible for the DECA Marketing Club. He retired in 2001.
Bill had a way about himself that always made you feel extra special. He had great love of people, animals, and Western History. This was reflected both in his career and community volunteer work. His personal contributions included serving on the Greeley Independence Stampede Committee for two terms, the Colorado Farm Show committee, a past member of the Weld County Sheriff’s Posse, Past Chairman of the American Quarter Horse Show of the Weld County Fair, Past Chairman of the Old Buckers organization, served on the Cabinet for United Way, was three time Chair of the Cabinet for United Way, and was on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Weld County. He was also very involved in his church serving in a variety of leadership and committee roles.
Bill is survived by his wife Holly; brother Roger (Carla); sister AnnMari; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife Antoinette (Busi) May.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, followed by a reception at the church.
