Darrell "Dw" Wayne Long

Born July 19, 1976 in Greencastle, he was the son of Ricky R. Long Sr. and Cindy S.(Grimes) Morris and was a graduate of Greencastle High School “Class of 1995”

Darrell worked at C&D Lawn Service for several years. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Greencastle.

Survivors include his mother, Cindy S. Morris; father, Ricky R. Long Sr; brothers, Shawn Higgins and Ricky R. (Sara) Long Jr.; a sister, Michelle (Darrell) Icenogle; grandparents, Russell and Doris Long; half-sisters, Lisa (Joe) Beaman, Becky (Russell) Howard, and Mindy (Derrick) Ward; uncles, Hank Grimes, Wayne (Carol) Grimes, Charlie (Angel) Grimes, and Tim York; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wanda M Grimes and Frank W. Grimes, aunt, Kathy York; and stepmother, Barbara Hathaway.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 2nd at the funeral home.
