Howard was born in Greencastle on January 5, 1928, the son of Robert Logan and Lola Marie (Bryant) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a member of United Bricklayers Union of Terre Haute. He attended and was baptized in New Providence Church. He was a bricklayer for 35 years until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Imogene Thomas; three children, Danny Thomas (wife-Melba), Gary Thomas, (wife-Jenny), and Peggy Cash, (husband-David); eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
