Lela Esther Richardson

Lela Esther Richardson, 99, of Plainfield passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Cumberland Trace in Plainfield. Lela was born in Fillmore on December 22, 1919, the daughter of Ira and Nellie (Zeiner) Nichols, and was a graduate of Fillmore High School. Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis. She worked for many years as a machinist for Stewart Warner. Survivors include six children, Guy Richardson, (Linda), Beaufort, South Carolina, Curtis Richardson, (Wendy), Fillmore, Peggy Abner, (Randy), Plainfield, Dr. James Richardson, (Melodie), Danville, Dale Richardson, (Lynell), Avon, and Dallas Richardson, (Vi), Big Sandy, Tennessee, , Plainfield; a sister Mary Alice Harcourt, Fillmore; 23 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Richardson; and a daughter, Sharon Richardson. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Reverend Lloyd Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Fillmore Cemetery.
