Martha Lou Priest

Martha Lou Priest, 82 of Greencastle passed away on August 30, 2019, at Hendricks Regional Hospital. Martha was born in Fillmore on June 5, 1937, the daughter of Maurice and Lena (Miller) Bryan, and was a 1955 graduate of Fillmore High School. Mrs. Priest was a member of Greencastle Christian Church. She was also a member of Putnam County Homemakers, and Putnam County Museum. Martha worked as a Secretary to the Commander at the Indiana Air National Guard retiring after 25 years of service. After her retirement she continued to work part-time at the Putnam County Adult Probation Office. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and cooking, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her Husband of over 62 years, Doyne Priest; three children, Katrina Reedy, (Steve Keller), Terre Haute, Joanna Barker, (Jeff), Cloverdale, and Wanda Corey, (Mike Smith), Mishawaka; two brothers, Clark Bryan, (Bonnie), and Sid Bryan, (Mary); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jana Barker; a brother, Jim Bryan; and a sister, Anna Wood. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
