Mary was born in Indianapolis on March 3, 1951, the daughter of James Otis and Marjorie May (Padgett) Stamey.
Mrs. Clampitt operated a daycare center in Bainbridge for many years. She liked to watch Hallmark Movies, drawing and was an avid baker. Most of all she enjoyed taking care of her family.
Survivors include her three children, Dawnyel Lynch, (John), Lori Lamb, (Randy), and Keith Clampitt; twelve grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 50 years, Tommy Clampitt.
Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at New Life Baptist Church with Pastor Dr. Scott Kallem officiating. Burial will follow in Bainbridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Friday at the church.
