

Reese was born on January 12, 1937 in Putnam County to Richard Parker and Virginia Geabes Parker.
He was a 1955 graduate of Greencastle High School and a 1964 graduate of the Indiana Military Academy.
Reese served his state and country in the Indiana National Guard, retiring as a Major after 28 years of service. He also retired from IBM with 33 years of service.
Mr. Parker was a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee for several years, and was a life member of the NRA.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Ames Parker whom he married on September 7, 1957; two sons, Mark Parker and wife Sarah and David Parker and wife Tammi; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Tyler, Benjamin and Molli; two step grandchildren, Brett and Jenna; two great-granddaughters, Ali and Karma; a sister Judy Handy and husband Norman; two aunts, Cornelia Ley and Doris Stites; brother-in-law, and sister –in-law, Kenny and Marleen Ames; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 11 A.M. at Fillmore United Methodist Church, 221 South Main Street, with Dr. Bryan Palmer-Smith officiating. Interment with Honors will follow at Fillmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the church.
Reese enjoyed mowing, woodworking, farming and could make any small engine run. Most of all he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who is greatly missed.
