Michael Shawn Hook

Michael Shawn Hook, of Harker Heights, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at his residence. Michael was born in Indianapolis on September 20, 1996, the son of Michael and Marty (Campbell) Hook, and was a 2015 graduate of North Putnam High School. Michael played football while in high school, and went on to play football in college. He attended MacMurray College in Jackson, Illinois. He was proudly serving as a Specialist in the United States Army and was a gunner for the Cav Scouts. Most importantly, he was a proud daddy to Myles and Ivory. His favorite family activity was riding four wheelers with Myles and telling Ivory just how beautiful she was. “I make cute kids” was his favorite line. Survivors include his wife Rachel Lee Hook; his parents; two children, Myles and Ivory Hook; two sisters Kalie Ketchum, (husband-Mark), and Shellby Hook; a nephew, Jason Ketchum; a niece, Paesley Hook; his maternal grandparents, Norma and Jerry Campbell; a paternal grandmother, Carolyn Hook; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Pap Hook; and an uncle, Bill Rattliff. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Lily Frazier officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2021 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, or one hour prior to time of service on Saturday.
