

He was born on August 20, 1917 in Norwood, Kentucky to William T. Cox and Victoria Randolph Cox.
Ray was a graduate of Science Hill High School in Science Hill, Kentucky, and retired from the Borden Milk Company where he delivered milk for 37 years.
He was a member of the Danville VFW and a former member of the Danville Conservation Club.
Ray got his name, the Rabbit Man from his love of animals. At one point, he cared for over 125 rabbits, seven chickens and four guineas, that all roamed freely in his unfenced yard. He also had nine head of cattle.
By-passers and local residents would routinely stop to look at his rabbits, all known as “Bunny”. A full article appeared in the Hendricks Flyer on Monday February 12, 2007.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his wife of 62 years, Chloe Thompson Cox.
He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, 4 Percy Julian Drive, Greencastle. Pastor Paul Crisp will officiate. Interment will follow at Walnut Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home on Thursday.
