Ray June was born in Greencastle on June 15, 1960, the daughter of Willard O. and Thelma Nevada (Tucker) Bumgardner. Ray June Graduated from Greencastle High School in 1978. On May 26, 1989, Ray June married Scott Turner; he became a wonderful bonus father to her children.
Mrs. Turner was most recently employed at Greencastle Community School Corporation, Stalcop and Heartland Automotive in Human Resources. Ray June continued education, while working, through PCI in Business Administration.
Ray June was a member of the North Salem Emmanuel Baptist Church. She was very active in serving the Lord as the church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Church Pianist, and led the church choir and song ministry.
Ray June was passionate with music as it was a huge part of her life. She was in the GHS Choir “The Classics;” competed and won numerous solo ensemble contests.Ray June had the voice of an angel.
Her kids and granddaughters were her pride and joy. She loved flowers, gardening, cooking, Kentucky basketball, Colts football, #54 dirt track racing, shopping, watching the food network, and front porch sittin’. Above all, God and family was her life.
Survivors include her husband Scott A. Turner, Roachdale; children, Maria and Chris Brewer, Myra and Dale Cox, and Kyle and Liz Kirkham; and seven granddaughters, Haylee, Kyndal, Averi, Addilyn, Morgan, Aubrey and Delaney.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Roger and Jackie Jones, and nephew Joseph Bumgardner.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Hopkins-Rector funeral Home with Pastor Dan Cline officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
