Born December 12, 1924 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Howard and Nellie (Sheets) Denny. Virginia was a graduate of Greencastle High School and attended Indiana Business College.
Virginia was a farmer and had worked at FHA for 16 years in Rockville, she had also worked nine years at State Highway Department and at the State Park . She was a member of the Bainbridge Christian Church and had been very active in the Democratic Party, having served as Democratic Campaign Committeeman.
She is survived by her son, Howard (Cathy) Mullis; four grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mullis; daughter, Lynn Underwood; infant granddaughter, Julie Dawn; a sister, Ann Gruenholz; and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Brick Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM on Wednesday until time of service at the funeral home.
