Wanda (Butch) was born in Indianapolis to Walter and Elizabeth (Brokamp) Bright. She graduated Belle Union High School in 1959 and married her high school sweetheart, Fred, on June 20th the same year at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Greencastle. Wanda held several jobs in her career, primarily in accounting, with Stokley-Van Camp, Family Finance, Sutherlin TV & Appliance, Cloverdale Holiday Inn (Assistant Manager), Putnam County Adult Probation and ASA Land Surveying. Wanda did not attend college but was often praised for her organizational skills and accounting knowledge. Wanda loved to plan and cook for many large family gatherings. Through countless hours of making cookies and pies, she passed down her passion for baking to her children and grandchildren. Wanda enjoyed playing board games and cards with family and friends where she showed no mercy when it came to winning. She was an avid reader and had quite a collection of favorite novels. Her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her such immense joy. Wanda is survived by her three children, Gordon (Lynette), Cloverdale; Greg (Debra), Cloverdale; and Gina (Jeff Perry) Danville; her eight grandchildren: Samanta (Matt Canfield), Mitchell, Jacob (Rebecca), Miranda (Ethan DeRuby), Payton, Hannah, Anne Marie (Nathan Tuft), Meredith and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers Walter, Wayne, and Warren and her sister Wilma (Farrington).
She was proceeded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, William; two sisters, Waneta (Bassett) and Wendy (Wright); and more recently, a great grandchild, Ellis Blake.
Wanda’s family would like to thank the staff and residents in the Legacy Department of Mill Pond Health Campus and Life Journey Hospice for their love and care of our mother during her battle with Alzheimer’s. Wanda was loved by all.
