Wendell Haines Clark January 26, 1928 - May 9, 2022 Wendell H. Clark 94 of Mt Meridian, went to his Heavenly home on Monday May 9th, 2022, He was born in Putnam County on January 26th 1928 to Harold Glen and Elizabeth (Hurst) Clark. He married his wife of 67 years Vera Jean (Ross) Clark on September 1,1954 at Fillmore Christian Church, and she survives. He was a 1945 graduate of Fillmore High School. He served in the United States Army at Fort Eustis Virginia. He worked for 30 years for IBM in Greencastle till the shut down in 1986. He was a 50 year member of the Fillmore Christian Church where he served in several capacities. He was at various times an Elder, deacon, and treasurer. He was one of 9 children and the last one to leave this earthly life. He loved his family, he so enjoyed seeing, either in person or by picture, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved basketball, auto racing, raising cattle (especially trips to Morton livestock sale), gardening and mowing. He truly enjoyed mowing his pasture on his Farmall tractor. He and Vera enjoyed sitting in their garage watching all that was going on in the neighborhood and waving at all who passed by. He was a simple man with a simple catch phrase, "Save your moner, was his advice to so many who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Melony (Mark) Scott of Greencastle, Angie (Camden) Davis of Wylie Texas, and Sheila (Paul) Rising of Avon. Seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Shane) Gregory, Dustin Scott, Lacy (Korie) Wells, Elysia (Tyler) Zimmerman, Trevor (Julie) Davis, Austin (Megan) Miller and Mallory (Joseph) Lenihan. Eleven great grandchildren, Kain Gregory, Trinity Gregory, Lydia Wells, Cecelia Wells, Blakely Zimmerman, Rory Zimmerman, Clark Davis, Dawson Miller, Benson Miller, Rozlyn Lenihan and Reece Lenihan. Funeral services for Wendell will be on Wednesday May 18 at 11:00 AM at Fillmore Christian Church with Pastor Gary Cornwell officiating. Visitation is Tuesday May 17 from 4-7PM at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home in Greencastle. Memorial contributions may be made to Fillmore Christian Church.
