Willard N. Scobee, 96, of Greencastle passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019, at Asbury Towers. Willard was born in Greencastle on January 23, 1923, the son of Russel L. and Elva (Price) Scobee, and was a graduate of Bainbridge High School. Mr. Scobee worked in various departments with IBM until his retirement after over 40 years of service. He was a member of Clinton Falls Community Church, a previous member of Bainbridge Christian Church, and Somerset Christian Church. Mr. Scobee was also a former member of the American Legion in Greencastle. Willard had a great love for the Lord. He enjoyed life to the fullest, traveling, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his two daughters, Sally Coffman, (husband C. Earl Jr.), Bainbridge, and Bonnie Roberts, Greencastle; a grandson, Christopher Coffman, (wife-Becky), Zionsville; three great-grandchildren, Brady, Benny and Beau; a sister-in-law, Raquel “Rakie” Hueber, Pittsboro; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 70 years, Marjorie “Jean” Scobee; two brothers, William “Bill” Scobee, and Edward Scobee; a son-in-law, Willis “Willie” Roberts; and a great-granddaughter, Caitlin Coffman. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Blades officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Thursday. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be directed to the Bainbridge High School Alumni Scholarship Fund, C/O Putnam County Foundation 2 S. Jackson Street, Greencastle, Indiana 46135.
