William Richard “Bill” Higgenbotham, 72, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
He was born March 17, 1947 in Mattoon, IL, the son of William and Marjorie Mary (Mettendorf) Higgenbotham and was a graduate of Neoga High School “Class of 1965”.
Bill had worked at Kroger Grocery for 31 years, retiring in 2007.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid mushroom hunter, fisherman, and CSI & mystery show watcher. He loved doing word search puzzles and enjoyed working in his yard.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn “Jacque” (Murray) Higgenbotham; his children, Brian (Melissa) Higgenbotham, Terry Higgenbotham, and Lori Higgenbotham; sister, Sue (Jimmy) White; grandchildren, James Stephens III, Brooklyn (James) Snyder, Mackenzie Higgenbotham, Macey Higgenbotham, and Elizabeth Logan; great grandson, Eli Snyder; mother-in-law, Rosanna Goodwin; brother-in-law, Doug Miller; and sister-in-law, Vickie Holecz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mary Miller; and grandson, Matthew Higgenbotham.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM on Saturday until time of service at the funeral home.
