Born February 9, 1919 in New Castle, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Arthur and Nancy Carter and was a graduate of Greencastle High School. She married Louis H. Williams and he preceded her in death.
Willie had been a cook at the Theta House Sorority at DePauw University for several years. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Laverne Groves of Greencastle; two sons, Charles (Carmen) Williams of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Elliott Lee (Billy) Williams of Olympia Fields, IL; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Harold Williams; a sister; and two brothers, Robert and James Carter.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Bro. Anthony Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am on Tuesday until time of service.
