Alan Lee Heim

A memorial service celebrating Alan's life will be 4:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2024 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, North Carolina 27407, with Reverend Dr. Jay Smith officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones during a reception in the funeral home's reception hall, immediately following the memorial service.

Alan is a Penn State University graduate who was certified in nuclear medicine and cardiac perfusion. He was employed as a perfusionist at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in High Point before retiring in 2022. An avid sailor, he also enjoyed hiking, riverboarding, and cruising on his motorcycle. Alan cherished spending time with his family and traveling to areas where he was immersed in the outdoors.

Alan is survived by his wife, Marsha Mooney Heim; daughter, Nicholette Heim Smith and spouse Benjamin Smith; son, Wesley Heim; daughter, Michelle (Mick) Heim and spouse Skye McGinley; grandchildren, Rowan, Cassandra, and Day Smith; brothers, Larry Heim and Phil Heim; and many loving step-siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and other extending family and friends.
