

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.
Alice was born on September 2, 1926 to the late Alice Crotts Jarrell and James Curn Jarrell. She spent her childhood and teen years living in Leasksville/Spray, NC. Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked at Thalhimers in downtown Greensboro and at Four Seasons Mall for approximately thirty years. She was loved for her friendship and wisdom among all. Alice was a wonderful homemaker, housekeeper, cook, and an avid card player. Alice enjoyed a good laugh and could be quite clever. She was a charter member of Rolling Roads Baptist Church for many years. Alice was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, James John Kendrick; along with three brothers and one sister.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her daughter Shirley Trent and husband Eddie of Greensboro, her daughter Diane Kendrick of Danville, Virginia, and Joel Kendrick and his wife Patricia of Mooresville, NC; grandson, Shane Trent and his wife Melissa of Pleasant Garden and their children, Austin, Kyle, Rayne, and Skylar; and grandson, Todd Trent and his wife Tammy of Asheboro, NC and their children, Will and Holden Trent.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., in Greensboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
