Alice Baxter Stone

A Native of Larne County; Antrim, Northern Ireland, she was born September 29, 1920 the daughter of the late Hugh and Sylvia McCaughay Baxter. Alice came to the United States in 1948 and became a citizen in 1957.

She was married to Arthur Ogburn Stone, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 28, 1999. Alice was also preceded in death by her three sisters, Agnes and Iris Baxter, Jeanette B. Schwab and her three brothers, Archie, Tommy and William “Willie” Baxter.

Before moving to Concord, she was member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church and was retired from Vicks Manufacturing Division of Richardson-Merrill (now P&G).

Alice is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur O. Jr. and Signe G. Stone of Concord, NC; three grandchildren, Leslie Cole, Erin Stone and Ryan Stone and one great grandchild, Billy Cole.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Guilford Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Dr. Jay Smith. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
