

Anita Maxine Routh, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born on January 12, 1935 in Granite Falls, NC, the daughter of Cecil Bane and Velva Dula Wallace. Maxine retired from Wesley Long Hospital where she was a nurse for 35 years. She loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. She and her husband of 60 years, Jack, took care of their children, especially their special needs son, Wally, enabling him to remain in the home in the loving care of his family. She so loved her grandchildren and she will be deeply missed by all.
Maxine is survived by her husband Siomy “Jack” Routh of the home; three sons, Siomy Wallace “Wally” Routh, Stacy Jack “Bucky” Routh, both of Greensboro, NC; Mark Jeffrey Routh, and wife Mollie Routh of Matthews, NC; two grandchildren, Frances Anita “Annie” Routh and Mark Jeffrey Routh, Jr.; her brother Danny Wallace and wife Sara of Hickory, NC, along with their two children, Jason Wallace and Jennifer Berry and husband Randall Berry and daughter Piper.Maxine was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Wallace.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, 2:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
