

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 2:00 p.m. Following the inurnment in the columbarium, a reception will be held in the Haywood Duke Room.
Ann was born on November 17, 1934 in Murfreesboro, NC to the late George Henderson Campbell and Neva Futrell Campbell. She was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and Salem College. A resident of Greensboro since 1969, Ann was an active and beloved member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she was employed for a number of years prior to her retirement. Other places of employment included La Bonne Femme, Greensboro Day School, Phillips Management Group and The Weatherspoon Art Museum.
Ann enjoyed reading, playing bridge, entertaining and travel. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends who will miss her very much. She was a fun, gracious and loving mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Ann was preceded in death by her husband John Johnson Dortch, her step-daughter Ann Hunter Dortch; brother, George H. Campbell, Jr., and nephew James A. Campbell.
Survivors include son James C. Prescott, III, daughter Pamela P. Broome and husband J. Tol Broome, Jr., three grandchildren: Elizabeth B. Baker and husband D. Michael Baker, II, John T. Broome III, Marianna P. Broome; step-daughter Elizabeth D. Beswick and her step-son Michael Beswick; sister-in-law Georgette J. Campbell, niece Ann Marie Waller, great niece Ila Waller and great nephew Silas Waller.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Ann Campbell Dortch.
