of Death and Resurrection will be at 2 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Christ United
Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends at the church
following the service.
Barbara was born in Raleigh County, WV to Denzel and Lake Erie Lovell Palmer. She
was educated at St. Mary’s School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse. She is
preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Reverend Richard Bailey Jarrett (2019).
Together, with their three children, they served Christ through ministry in many churches
in the Western NC UMC Conference.
She will be remembered as a reflective woman who loved to connect, read, journal, and
was a gifted crafter. Over the years she knitted many prayer shawls for those in need.
Barbara loved communicating with others and had the ability to make people feel
comfortable in her company. She had a gentle and kind spirit which shown through her
lifetime involvement in United Methodist Women, participation in Relay 4 Life and
volunteerism with the American Heart Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Robin Beth Jarrett and husband J Wesley Norred of
Dallas, TX; son in law, Larry Pulliam of Greensboro, grandchildren, Spencer Lee Pulliam
and wife Elizabeth of Greensboro and Dr. Christian Jarrett Pulliam and wife Dr.
McKenzie Pulliam of Winston-Salem, great grandchildren, Palmer Bailey Pulliam,
Lawson Douglas Pulliam and Parker Brooke Pulliam; sister, Carolyn Palmer Trail of
Raleigh, and families of nephews Julian Trail, Mark Trail, and niece Karen Martin. In
addition to her husband, Barbara is preceded in death by her son, Dru Richard Jarrett
and daughter, Cindy Jarrett Pulliam.
