Bernadine "Dinie" Williard

Born April 7, 1927 in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Phalti Spoon and the late Lucy Caroline Powers Spoon. She worked in sales and advertising before retiring. She was involved with the Woman’s Club of High Point and enjoyed serving on the hospitality committee for her church, First Baptist Church in High Point.

She was married to Russell M. “Nese” Williard, Jr. for 64 years and he preceded her in death on November 28, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her sibilings, Odell Spoon, Genevieve Spoon Riley, Charles Spoon and Bernell Spoon Rogers. Surviving are her three children, Patricia “Patty” Anne Simmons and her husband, Ron of Southport, NC, Robert “Bobby” Williard and his wife, Donna of Brevard, NC, Jerry Williard and his wife, Diane, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, 7 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Above all she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived to see her children grow personally and professionally and have families of their own. She had a spirit to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment of each day.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel at 6000 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC on Sunday, October 21st at 2 pm. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1 pm until time of the service.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Adams Farm Living & Rehabilitation Center, her personal caregivers and Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro for the excellent and loving care provided to her.
