Bertha Michael Smith Poindexter

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel with Rev. Lloyd B. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Family visitation will be on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.

Bertha was born in Guilford County to the late William Henry Smith and Jessie Saunders Smith. She was a beautician for many years. She was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church. She sang gospel music with the Truelighters and the Joyfulaires. Bertha enjoyed doing crafts.

Bertha is survived by her husband Carl Poindexter, and three sons, Rodney Carl Poindexter and wife Teresa, Danny Wayne Poindexter and wife Tammie, and Steve Allen Poindexter and wife Dana all of Greensboro; three grandchildren Danielle Rene Poindexter, Rodney Carl Poindexter, Jr. and Katlyn Kirkman; and one great grandchild Lucy Jane Poindexter; sisters, Judy Hemphill, Geraldine Loy, Delores Shelton; and brother, William Henry Smith, Jr.
