Bettye Sue Kendall Mitchell, 86, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Bettye, affectionately known by many as "Pug," was born in Chattanooga, TN and was a graduate of Central High School. Bettye married James Robey "Mitch" Mitchell and they lived their life together in Greensboro, NC. She was employed as a legal assistant for many years before becoming a barber. She joined Mitch, also a barber, in their barber shop Roffler Styles. Together Mitch and Bettye served countless customers, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Born with the gift to gab, Bettye could talk to anyone about anything. She had a quick wit and beaming smile. She loved her dogs, fishing, golfing, her friends, and her extended family.
In her later years, Bettye lived at the Carillon in Greensboro and made many wonderful friends during her time there.
Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Berta Butts Kendall; siblings Frances Ryan, Raymond "Doc" Kendall, Bill Kendall, Prince Kendall, Doris Newton, Joyce Grace, and Ronnie Kendall; and her beloved husband, Mitch. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
