Beverly Cobb Kinney, 93, of Gibsonville passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Born on July 8, 1931 in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Bittle Elwood Cobb and Daphne Roach Cobb. Beverly grew up on a farm with her two sisters and brother. After graduating high school, she attended UNCG for a year and then went to work at Blue Bell where she met her former husband and was married for 25 years. They adopted their son Stephen when he was 7 weeks old and then adopted their daughter, Meredith at 5 weeks old. Beverly loved her children and was active in all the activities they were involved in. From Blue Bell she went to work for Western Car Loading and then Southern Importers where she eventually retired from. While working for Southern Importers, Beverly also worked for Kroger’s and retired in her 70’s. Beverly was a collector of Depression Glass, enjoyed going to auctions and going to the beach with her daughter, Meredith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Myron Elwood Cobb in 2015; her sister Doris Cobb in 2016; and her niece, Joan McMahan in 2023.
Beverly is survived by her son, Stephen Kinney and fiancé Crystal Cox of Pleasant Garden; daughter, Meredith Kinney Biddy of Whitsett; four grandchildren, Courtney Kinney, Kristin Kinney, Dustin Biddy and Bryant Biddy; sister, Becky Cobb Yow of Greensboro; nephew, Randy Yow; and great niece, Patrice McMahan.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church, 6015 Frieden Church Rd, Gibsonville, NC. A funeral service for Beverly will begin at 3 pm at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with a reception following in the church fellowship hall.
