Bobby Herman Saferight

Bobby Herman Saferight, age 87 passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. Bobby was born on December 20, 1937, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to the late Frank Saferight and Annie Hanner Saferight. Bobby lived a life full of stories, laughter, and love. He enjoyed being a storyteller, captivating his family and friends with tales that brought joy and warmth to their lives, working in his garden, bird watching his Martins and spending time with family. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and could often be found riding his golf cart around the family compound, a smile on his face and a cigar in hand, enjoying the beauty of nature and the company of those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bobby is survived by his loving daughter, Debra Hinshaw and her husband, Tommy; his son, Ricky Saferight and his wife, Karen; brother Glen Saferight and sister Ruth Williams. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy and love.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Brooks Saferight, sister Jean Medearis and brothers Norman and Henry Saferight.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 am in Guilford Memorial Park.
