Bonnie studied at Mansfield School of Nursing to become an RN, trained at the Cleveland Clinic, and built her nursing career at National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado. She was a good nurse and proud of it but spared few with her wry humor.
Despite remaining a Westerner at heart, she moved to Greensboro in 2017 to be with her sister, Mary Sue Swartz. The two passed the time with British dramas, Mexican food outings, beach trips to the Outer Banks, and holidays with the kids. They kept each other company during COVID, when seeing the family was difficult.
Music was a constant throughout her life. She was a devoted fan of the artists who defined her generation, including Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (though she never stopped blaming Neil for breaking up the band), Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot, Buffy Sainte-Marie, and The Who, some of whom she saw live at Red Rocks. Even in her final days, music filled her room.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Anna Reynolds; her husband, David Mann; and her niece, Kimberly Swartz. She is survived by her son, Jesse Mann of Denver; her sister, Mary Sue Swartz of Greensboro; her niece, Jennifer Swartz, and great-niece, Iris Turfle; and stepsisters, Patricia Womochil and Phyllis Hadley.
In lieu of a formal service, the family has planned a small gathering to celebrate her life and scatter her ashes.
We'll miss you, Bon, you tough old hippie spirit.
