A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Gilmore Memorial Park Cemetery in Julian, NC, with Pastor Mike Barrett Officiating.
Born in Guilford County on May 31, 1939 to the late Lester and Rosa Hedgecock, Bud attended Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army and Reserves from 1963 until 1969, then returned home and worked his entire life as a Farmer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Shelby Jean Pierce; and his brothers, Jimmy "Jim" Hedgecock and Larry Hedgecock.
He is survived by his three daughters, Barbara Glidewell, Sharon Smith, and Tammy Johnson (Tim); ex-wife and mother of his children, Brenda Purcell Hedgecock; sister, Brenda H. Sells (Steve); grandchildren, Ethan Smith, Darius Smith (Anna), Miranda Holden (Dave), Dylan Glidewell, Josh Glidewell (Ashley) and Mackenzie Johnson; great-grandchildren, Logan Glidewell, Chandler Glidewell, Kelsey Glidewell, Jack Glidewell, Daniel Glidewell, Connor Glidewell, Waylon Smith and Maia Holden; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
