Cecil Boyd Jones

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407, with Rev. Ron Jones and Rev. Ken Reaves, officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Guilford Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. The family will receive friends and loved ones, one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Please join us for a reception following the service at the fellowship hall at Archdale Wesleyan Church, 3804 Archdale Road, Archdale, NC 27263, to celebrate remembrances of Cecil's life.

Cecil was born on August 4, 1930, in Guilford County, to the late Oscar McKinley Jones and Callie Modlin Jones and attended Jamestown High School. He worked at Oakdale Cotton Mill for 40 years, then at Burlington Industries for 10 years and was a volunteer firefighter. He enjoyed the simple things in life, like fishing, playing golf, watching the Atlanta Braves, the Washington Redskins and taking trips to the beach. Cecil was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, but above all, a follower of Jesus Christ, who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his dear wife of 65 years, Juanita Wilson Jones; and his siblings, Robert Jones, Richard Jones, Charlie Jones, Delbert Jones, Betty Jones Howard and Pat Jones Petty.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Susan Kearse (Joe) and Nancy Sexton (Brad); grandchildren, Allyson Fischer (Andrew), Kelly Hill (Kevin) and Justin Kearse; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Liv, Sydney, Emily and Presley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Dr. Asheboro, NC 27203.
