Christopher Jakob Underwood, age 8, son of Matthew “Matt” Langley and Amy Lehning Underwood of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday afternoon, March 23, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center. He was born June 12, 2008 in Greensboro.
Christopher attended the Haynes-Inman Educational Center in Jamestown and was a member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church. Christopher is survived by his parents, Matt and Amy Underwood; his sister, Madison Gail Underwood; his brother, Owen Joseph Underwood; his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Gail Lehning of Cary and his paternal grandparents, Joseph “Joe” and Gene-Ann Underwood of Charlotte.
A Celebration of Life Service for Christopher will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Jamestown Presbyterian Church where the Reverend Dr. Jay Smith and the Reverend Newton Cowan will officiate.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
A private family inurnment service will be held at the church columbarium.
In lieu of the customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorials in Christopher’s memory be made to the Haynes Inman Education Center 200 Haynes Rd., Jamestown, NC 27282 or to Jamestown Presbyterian Church 1804 Guilford College Rd., Jamestown, NC 27282
