Dale Braxton Holder

Dale Braxton Holder, 91, a resident of Greensboro, passed away on Thursday October 27, 2016 at Brookdale North Assisted Living in High Point. Dale was born July 18, 1925 in Greensboro, the son of Sherwood Braxton and Bessie Terrel Holder. He was a graduate of Greensboro High School and was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church. Dale was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army and received 2 Purple Hearts.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harvey Heath and his sister, Hazel Henderson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 6, 2016 at St. Paul Presbyterian Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. Jay Lambeth. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall on Sunday prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Dale is survived by his wife, Juanita Gann Holder; daughter, Denise Holder Cranford (Allen) of High Point; son, Michael L. Holder (Sue) of Raleigh; son, Larry W. Henderson (Pam) of Randleman; five grandchildren, Tripp and Chase Cranford, Shannyn and Samantha Holder and Amber Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or to St. Paul Presbyterian Church, 2300 Old Chapman St., Greensboro, NC 27403.

Dale was loved deeply and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
